What Is Selenium?
Selenium is an essential trace mineral that the body requires in small but precise amounts. It functions primarily as a component of selenoproteins — a family of over 25 proteins that regulate thyroid hormone metabolism, antioxidant defense, DNA synthesis, and immune function.
